Bringing Gary on board, first as an executive coach for our chief technology officer – and then later as interim COO – was a fantastic move for our company. Gary worked closely with our senior managers and first-line leaders in creating an esprit de corps that has been a springboard to strong organizational performance. From reimagining the company vision, aligning our mission and values, structuring communication channels, encouraging cross-pollination among departments, and implementing relevant key performance indicators, his results–focused approach helped us achieve critical strategic goals. Gary’s financial management contributions were tangible and led to increased revenue, cost containment, profitable growth – and exceeded the return on investment I was looking for when we brought him aboard.

I hired Gary to help address several areas including internal communication, operational processes, and performance measurement tools. To create more constructive discussions in the other areas, Gary began his training on communication. He worked with both my management team and non-managers to cover formal, informal, and digital communication. It had an immediate impact allowing for detailed discussion and analysis – and enabling effective solutions for our operational processes. With Gary’s guidance, we also implemented performance measurement tools including OKRs – which we had not utilized prior – and redefined our KPIs allowing us to continue elevating our post pandemic performance. We have increased revenue matching ICMLs ,2019, all-time high. Throughout the project, he provided written training materials and reports including an end-of-project executive summary report that I used for my upcoming board meeting. I am very pleased with Gary’s day-to-day interaction with our managers and staff – and the significant performance contributions he provided to our company.

With our membership plateauing, I was looking for ways to attract new members and secure additional resources for our ministry. I brought Gary in to help. He was very well-organized first meeting with me and then several members to research what was missing from our current membership growth activities. Based on those discussions, he helped us to drive up member numbers by establishing a digital presence, including an ecommerce platform. Gary also helped us in several other areas including an increase in tithings by implementing, Tithely, an online payment system, exploring commercial real estate options, and writing effective grant proposals. His biggest contribution, however, was helping me and my staff to better strategize, communicate, and execute day-to-day operations activities. Gary did a great job for our nonprofit. I enjoyed partnering with him.

Gary was instrumental in helping to shape my executive leadership style and accelerating my senior-level management know-how.
